Our experience at Allta was outstanding from start to finish. Every detail felt intentional and thoughtfully curated. From the warmth and elegance of the interior design to the precision and beauty of each plate that arrived at the table. The food was exceptional in both presentation and flavour, clearly reflecting the vision and skill of Chef Jungsu, whose cooking delivered a refined yet deeply satisfying experience. A special mention to our wait staff, Josh and Daniel, who were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. Their service elevated the entire evening and made us feel well looked after without ever being intrusive. Allta is the kind of place where everything comes together seamlessly. Service, atmosphere, and food. Itโs a restaurant weโd confidently recommend to friends, not just for a meal, but for a memorable dining experience.
What a truly amazing and delicious experience we had here. Allta is a modern Korean degustation restaurant and we enjoyed 12 courses of it. The restaurant offers a refined and intimate dining experience that reimagines Korean cuisine through a contemporary menu. We had the 11 course degustation menu which included snacks, entrรฉes, mains, and desserts. The service was excellent, I could not fault anything I was served and the cocktails were unique.
Although it was my first time experiencing fine dining, I gained a new experience. All the dishes were delicious and easy to enjoy. The explanations of the food by the servers and sommelier, along with the suitable wine pairings, were excellent.
It felt like tasting the beauty of true craftsmanship, artistry, and above all, the exceptional skills of the chefs. The heavenly flavors and the perfect sommelier pairing elevated both the taste and the atmosphere to perfection. Itโs a place that makes you think of celebrating special moments โ Iโd love to go back again with people I care about. Highly recommended!
Allta is a modern Korean degustation restaurant located at 50 Pitt Street, Sydney CBD, led by Executive Chef Jung-Su Chang, formerly of Seoulโs two-Michelin-starred Jungsik. It offers a refined and intimate dining experience that reimagines Korean cuisine through a contemporary lens. Allta presents a 15-course degustation menu ($325 per person) structured into four stages: snacks, entrรฉes, mains, and desserts. The restaurant accommodates only 12 guests per evening around a U-shaped stone bar, providing an unobstructed view of the open kitchen. This intimate setup allows guests to closely observe the precision and artistry of the culinary team. Due to its exclusivity, early booking is highly recommended. Among the courses, the soy-marinated prawn (saewoojang), sweet prawn, kingfish, and the crispy seaweed chips stood out as particularly delicious. The nabak kimchi offered a familiar taste as a Korean but worked perfectly to cleanse the palate. The Murray cod was cooked perfectly, with crispy skin that made it even more enjoyable. I had read many reviews praising the steak, and it truly lived up to expectationsโtender and harmoniously balanced with all the accompanying ingredients. As a Korean, I found it surprising to see bracken (gosari) paired with steak, but after tasting it, I completely understood why; everything worked beautifully with the sauce. My partner kept nodding and repeatedly said how delicious it was. The desserts were excellent as well, especially the hwachae (fruit punch) and blanc, which were both memorable. At the end of the meal, they even took a Polaroid photo for us as a gift, making the experience even more special.
